Personality:
A bitter, jaded old war general with the belief that the world had thoroughly fucked him over for everything that he has ever tried to do, Wheatley is no longer quite the cheerful, bubbly force of good that he used to be. Broken. Terrified of the 'new' world he was thrust back into. Plagued by a myriad of mental illnesses after his thousand-year long possession b the Announcer as Nightmare Invictus, including but not limited to anxiety, insomnia, and depression, along with signs of mild-to-major psychosis and PTSD. He is a difficult person to talk to when stressed or worked up. Cynical. Irritable and short-tempered. Believes that no matter what he does to help, it’ll never be enough. While actually quite intelligent, his judgement tends to slip when under pressure. Shy and reclusive. Doesn’t like loud noises or big crowds. Paranoid and skittish, and has a pronounced stutter. While he has taken to hiding away and allowing his siblings to defend him and his country (something the old him would never stand for), he can occasionally pull himself together long enough to fight and eliminate enemies with his familiar, brutal flair.

Despite his recent despairing, cynical nature, Wheatley has demonstrated that something is still left of his amiable old self, mainly shown in his attempts to reconnect with his long-lost daughter. Has a snarky side and a somewhat wry, self-deprecating sense of humour. Kind of dorky. Recently made a concerning habit of drinking in massive excess. Talkative when in a good mood and around trusted, pleasant company, though in recent years has been rendered nearly completely mute when scared and surrounded by those he doesn’t trust (including Glados) in an unfamiliar environment.

Other:
- Despite the extensive damage to his left wing, Wheatley can still fly, though not very far or for very long, and not without pain. This can be attributed to his powerful pegasus magic more than anything, as any mortal with a similar injury would be permanently grounded.

- Wheatley can’t stand cold temperatures, and usually spends especially harsh winters huddled away in a nest of blankets to ‘hibernate’, leading to the rumours of him being cold-blooded. While not necessarily true, his core body temperature is several degrees colder than those of his siblings, which in turn also affects his fire breathing. The scarring on his body makes him especially susceptible to milder temperatures. Absolutely will not go outside in the winter without several layers of clothing.

- His grey hair came about mostly as a result of intense stress during the twenty long years of being trapped as Nightmare Invictus, and for a time after being freed when everything was confusing and scary to him, but is entirely unrelated to age. With his mental trauma sllloooowwwwwlllyyyy being dealt with, his orange hair may indeed come back someday.
